prophylaxisProphylaxis
Prophylaxis is more than just a “tooth cleaning”. It is a series of steps taken by dental health professionals to prevent gingivitis and periodontal disease. Our dental hygienists not only remove the plaque and calculus from above and below your gum line, but they also review home care to ensure you are doing the best possible job in taking care of your teeth. In addition, a sample of plaque is taken from your mouth and reviewed under a microscope to determine the type, quantity and severity of bacteria present.

regualr examinationsRegular Examinations
During each examination, we'll check your teeth, mouth and gums thoroughly, looking for symptoms of decay, periodontal disease, oral cancer and many systemic diseases. Each tooth will be examined for wear, to see how previous fillings and crowns are holding up, and by taking a series of x-rays, we can look for problems that are undetectable during our clinical exam.

patient educationPatient Education
Our belief is that an informed patient will make the best decisions about their dental care. We will explain your treatment options before we begin any dental work and thoroughly discuss what each procedure entails to ensure your complete understanding. If you have any further questions after leaving the office, we are always available to answer any questions or concerns over the phone. In addition, we have multiple brochures and pamphlets available to further inform you about your dental care.

dental sealantsDental Sealants
Your back teeth have a series of deep grooves on the chewing surfaces—grooves that can be impossible to clean. Unfortunately, bacteria have the ability to reach in these grooves and cause decay.
Our solution to this problem is dental sealants. Placing dental sealants is a painless process that does not require removing any tooth structure. Sealants are a thin, resin film that can be quickly bonded to your teeth. The cost of a sealant is much less than the cost of a filling and it is an excellent investment to protect teeth from getting cavities in the future

breath treatmentsBreath Treatments
There are many causes of bad breath: gum disease, infections, kidney failure, liver malfunction, and dry mouth. Dry mouth can be caused by an array of problems which include aging, medications, mouth breathing and chemotherapy. If you have bad breath, we'll work with you to uncover the causes and find the ways to treat it properly.

nightguardsNightguards
Do you grind your teeth at night? Are your jaw muscles sore in the morning? Do you have headaches frequently? Do you have implants or bridges? Over time, you could cause serious damage to your mouth by breaking or loosening teeth. Grinding teeth can even cause neuromuscular problems and give you the symptoms previously listed.
There is a solution. We can fit you with a nightguard—an orthodontic device that you wear during your sleep or even during the day—that will keep you from grinding your teeth. A nightguard will reduce the stress on your teeth and jaws and alleviate many of the symptoms listed above.

crowns-tooth colored and goldCrowns- Tooth colored and Gold
A crown completely covers and encases your tooth and is the most durable, strongest, most long-lasting way to restore a tooth with extensive damage. They are often used as the solution to treat fractured or cracked teeth.

When your teeth require restorations, tooth colored crowns are an attractive choice. Restorations done with porcelain have a translucent, natural appearance that keeps your smile looking great. We offer custom porcelain restorations determined by the amount of healthy tooth that you have remaining.

tooth-colored restorationsTooth-Colored Restorations
In our office, we use bonded ceramic composite restorations instead of silver amalgam fillings, which contain mercury. We feel that these tooth-colored composite restorations are safer for our patients—and they look much better too!

porcelain veneersPorcelain Veneers
If you have stained, discolored, unevenly spaced, or even slightly crooked front teeth, we may recommend porcelain veneers, They can quickly provide you with a dazzling smile. These contact lens-thin pieces of porcelain are permanently bonded to your teeth; the whole process can be completed in just a few appointments.

whiteningWhitening
Tooth whitening is safe, effective and long lasting— plus its a great way to brighten your smile. We can provide a 1 hour in-office treatment called Boost or we can create a home tooth whitening kit, designed specifically for your mouth. Either option can provide drastic results to your smile, and each system has its own benefits that we will be happy to discuss with you.

bridgesBridges
If you are missing a tooth, a bridge can often be made to replace it. Bridges are very similar to crowns and are a permanent solution to missing teeth. They provide you the ability to chew and speak normally. A fixed bridge will also prevent teeth from shifting, and stabilize your bite.

dental implantsDental Implants
Dental implants offer a solid, secure, and aesthetically pleasing foundation for a replacement tooth or teeth. An implant is a special surgical grade titanium post that is inserted surgically into the jawbone below the gum surface. As the bone integrates to the implant post, it forms a secure base to which your new crown can be attached. We have a periodontist in the office twice a month providing implant placement.

With implants, full and partial dentures and even individual replacement teeth can feel more comfortable and function more like your natural teeth.

dentures and partial denturesDentures & Partial Dentures
We work very hard with you to ensure that your natural teeth will last a lifetime. Unfortunately, there are times when patients lose all or a substantial number of their teeth. If this has happened, we can provide full or partial dentures that will enable you to look and feel great. If you are looking for something that is not removed, you may also want to consider dental implants. (see above)

root canalsRoot Canals
Although many people think of root canals as extremely painful and time consuming, the truth is that modern dental techniques have made this a much easier and more comfortable procedure for patients.

Root canal treatment is an effective way to remove the dental pulp and clean the root canal. The pulp contains the nerve that can be the cause of any dental pain. If the pulp becomes diseased or injured, it can cause an abscess or infection. If untreated, the infection will ultimately lead to the loss of a tooth.

periodontal diseasePeriodontal Disease
Do your gums bleed when you brush? Are they swollen and tender? Have you been told you have bad breath? Are your teeth loose? These are symptoms of periodontal disease, a serious dental problem that can lead to the loss of bone in your jaw and ultimately to the loss of your teeth. Periodontal disease has also been linked to systemic problems such as heart disease, low birth weight babies and diabetes.

If you suspect you may have periodontal disease, please call our office right away for an appointment. The earlier we can diagnose and treat periodontal disease, the sooner we can take steps toward saving your teeth.

Charting and Diagnostic Services
We'll examine the gums around each tooth carefully. There are several indicators that we are looking for. They include pocket depth, recession, bleeding and inflammation. All of the following signify the severity of gingivitis or periodontal disease occurring. X-rays may also be used to check for any signs of bone loss.

In Office Therapy
We can treat most cases of periodontal disease using deep-cleaning techniques to remove the calculus and plaque. This is called scaling and root planning (SRP’s). We also use a special mouth rinse, and occasional antibiotic therapy. This ensures that we kill the bacteria that cause periodontal disease. With severe cases of periodontal disease, we have an in-office periodontist to help you maintain and improve your oral health.

Patient Comfort and Technology

Chairside Computers
Having computers at each dental chair helps us keep you better informed. It also increases our efficiency, so you can enjoy your time outside our office instead of waiting for paperwork.

Patient Education
Before we begin any treatment, we try to ensure that you fully understand what's going to happen and what the desired results will be. We use a variety of patient education materials to give you a clear picture of your dental treatment. If you have any question, please do not hesitate to ask any of our staff members!

Nitrous Oxide
If you are nervous about spending time in the dental chair, nitrous oxide may be a good treatment option for you. You inhale nitrous oxide through a small mask over your nose; you wont' lose consciousness, but you will feel very relaxed during your treatment. Nitrous oxide wears off extremely quickly, so you'll be able to drive and return to your normal routine immediately after your appointment is over.
